My name is Lisa Jager, and I have been writing my blog since the spring of 2011. I originally began writing this blog to document my job hunting and unemployment experiences. Like many Americans at the time I had been unemployed or underemployed for a long time. I also hoped that writing the blog would help me find a job writing or in public relations, a field in which I had worked for many years. And it worked! I sent my blog to the editor of my hometown newspaper, the Devils Lake Journal in Devils Lake, N.D., and within a short time I was hired as a reporter/writer. I worked there for 10 months during which I also wrote a weekly column called Adjusting to Life in My Hometown, which chronicled my experiences doing just that after living in big cities for so many years. The column won second place in the North Dakota Newspaper Association’s annual writing contest. After about a year (one winter!) in North Dakota I returned to Colorado and worked for a newspaper for a couple of years on the northeastern plains. In the spring of 2015, I accepted a new position in California, finally returning to the field of public relations.
I was born in raised in North Dakota, spent many years living in Colorado and also eight years in the Washington, D.C. area.
Thanks for checking out this page, and I hope you enjoy my blog!
